GNR Public Health - Buford Health Center

I have never had a bad experience until today. But my issue still got resolved very quick. I have never had problems with the office everyone is nice and always willing to help. The only bad thing is the lady on the phone today when I called was so rude I couldn’t even get a word in. Literally every time I spoke she talked over me. That is the only negative. Other than that it’s been fine.

Call ahead and make sure they actually have medical professionals working the day you want to go. I go to this location 4 times a year and 2 times out of those 4 I was told no nurses were there to help me and to come back another day. You are a Health Department...how do you not have ANY medical staff on any certain day?? On a positive note, when I do get seen the staff is friendly and I get in and out quickly.

For what they offer, I would say the staff were amazing. Place was once and clean, did not like the sitting and waiting though. They carry all the vaccines your Drs office won't. Great for place for kids going off to college and are planning on studying abroad. Lots of extra shots required!

I was worried about coming here with a good amount of negative reviews, but I actually had a very positive experience! The location was in a nice area, the inside was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and Gina did an exceptional job with my blood draw (I’m usually a difficult draw but she got me the first time and it wasn’t painful!). The only reason for 4 stars versus 5, is that you may have to wait. I was fortunate and was in and out in 45 minutes which I thought was pretty good. However, I know other people there had been waiting longer, and it also depends what you go there for. They seem to do the best they can though to get you in and out efficiently.

I just moved to the state and have two children enrolling in Gwinnett County schools. I will start by saying the school staff have been wonderful. This has NOT been the case for the health department. My husband went to the center, waited three hours when a staff member walked into the waiting area to announce that anyone still in the lobby would have an additional two hour wait. No explanation was given as to why the additional wait time. He left because he not only had our two boys but also our toddler, all of whom needed to be fed. He returned two days later, waited two hours, had our son's required testing, and went to enroll our son in school to find that the staff at the health department had not filled out all of the appropriate paperwork.
