Golden house

First time visiting here, we waited around 20 minutes for food. Not the slowest but not the fastest. Second time visiting here, we waited around 30 minutes for 2 orders. I ordered the chicken pad Thai to-go. As soon as I went home and opened my container, there was a roach sitting on the top of my meal. This isn’t a review to slander the business or to bring them down because I had a good experience the first time. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they actually keep their kitchen clean and they follow proper food safety protocols, but food safety is a non-negotiable and it is unacceptable to have things like this happen, especially with people’s health. If you’ve had Chinese food anywhere around the Charleston Tri-County area, you already know it can be hit or miss most of the time. That’s why Golden House really stands out. We’ve been coming here regularly over the past year, and they’ve been consistently solid every single time. The food is always fresh, full of flavor, and the portions are generous—you actually get your money’s worth here. No shortcuts, no letdowns. Ordering is quick and easy. They’re family-owned, the place is always clean, and while they’re not big on small talk, honestly… who cares? When the food is this good and you’re in and out without any hassle, that is good service in my book. Straightforward, reliable, and great-tasting Chinese food—something that’s harder to find than it should be around here. Five stars

I ordered off of doordash so I dont know if doordash itself overprices the menu items since the last time I ordered from here but it definitely wasnt worth the food poisoning I got- been throwing up since last night. I got the honey chicken meal with the low mein and it tasted great and I had a good amount of food for how much it cost and I liked the eggroll it came with so I'm very disappointed with being so sick from it. Had to call out of work today over this. Wont be ordering food from here again for awhile at least not the honey chicken.

Paid for food we didn’t get, they ripped the receipt off the bag and handed it over without all our food. First time this has happened but we also got a broccoli, chicken and lo mein combo and it was only broccoli three pieces of chicken and a couple of lo mein noodles. Just look at your stuff before you leave

We're new to the area and happened to pick Golden House because it's close to home. We were very impressed with the quality and quantity of food... and very reasonable prices! We ordered online and food was ready when we got there. We will be ordering from here again!
