Golden Temple

This is our go to family place for great Chinese when some in your party prefer Japanese. Both are done well, but I really love their Chinese menu. It's huge. Their soups - wonton and egg drop don't taste like the typical take-out. Lighter and more flavorful. They have great noodle bowls, like noodle soup with wontons, which I usually have to go to Flushing or Chinatown to find decent noodle soups. For appetizers - Their scallion pancakes are light and crispy. Our main courses - Beef with Broccolli - flavorful while not overwhelmed by too much sauce, and savory more than sweet. Their scallops with vegetable sauce was light and satisfying. Their sushi bento box was fresh and plentiful. Oh and defintely order a Japanese beer, like Asahi, or a Mai Tai, if you've had a stressful day!

We were extremely disappointed with this takeout order. The food was completely bland, like no seasoning was used at all. The rice tasted old and stale, not fresh in any way. The worst part was the shrimp — it smelled so fishy and unpleasant that we literally had to cover the container back up. No one felt comfortable eating it. That’s a huge red flag when it comes to seafood. For the price this was not acceptable. We ended up throwing most of it away. I won’t be ordering from here again and definitely don’t recommend it.

When not in China or Japan - there’s Golden Temple. This is our local go-to place for lunch, dinner or take out. They have a very nice menu, Chinese tea, and mixed drinks/ wine/ beer are always on point. It suits us and a lot of other customers because thry offer both cuisines and can accommodate gluten free. The food is fresh, flavorful, and delicious (We enjoy the sushi, soups, fried & plain rice, chicken with broccoli, beef dishes, steak dishes, shrimp, Singapore mei fun.). The staff are always kind and welcoming, and the restaurant is popular with everyone. Thanks for the fantastic food and service Golden Temple!!

Golden Temple is not exclusively Chinese; it encompasses a variety of dishes from different Asian traditions, all prepared with fresh ingredients and diverse flavors. This makes it a versatile spot for those who enjoy exploring different tastes. However, I was specifically looking for authentic Chinese cuisine that embodies traditional cultural flavors, such as Sichuan or Taiwanese style. While it didn’t fully meet my expectations in that regard, I still enjoyed the wonton soup, the Mu Shu (first on the lunch special menu I posted), and the broccoli root kimchi.

My dinner was delicious my shrimp and broccoli was tasty the Freshness of the food was delightful. Wonderful soup I will definitely return. This place have a Coupon how great is that,
