Golden Tropics Jamaican Restaurant

We stopped in after a game, great Oxtail, Curry Goat and Stew Chicken. Some may seek more heat in the curry and they were able to give us some Habenero to bring us across the finish line. The Jerk pork will not disappoint, tendor perfectly seasoned and made with respect. Wonderful spot.

Still on the hunt for a GREAT Jamaican restaurant, but this place did not disappoint. The first time ordering, I tried the brown stew chicken, with greens, rice and peas. My fiancé got the jerk chicken. We both loved it. The brown stew chicken was a little sweet to me compared to others I’ve tried but it was flavorful. Greens were fire. We back a second time and I tried the jerk chicken. That was great too. Not too spicy, just right. Will definitely be back. Prices weren’t outrageous, nice size portions.

Guys, I really wanted to like this restaurant. It’s was the closest restaurant within walking distance from the Franklyn Soccer Complex. Let me start off by saying the young lady at the register was super nice and very accommodating . Also, it’s not pricey and the portions are nice. As for the food, it was just okay. I ordered the veggie plate. I liked the collard greens, plantains and cabbage. That’s about it! The rice and beans were not the best I ever had. Would I go back again??….NO!

Customer service was unprofessional girl in the front was on her phone and rushing my order. I sat and ate and was in there alone no interaction with customers. The food was nasty nothing in the goat just tuff meat! Customer service made the food more nasty. The only thing good was the soda! The presentation wasn’t $15 worth!

We came in from Florida today and were famished! We googled this place from our hotel and although it was not the closest by distance, we are sure now that we made the right choice. I had the curry goat and rice, washed down with a sorrel and ginger drink; my husband had the oxtail, rice and peas, and cabbage. Both meals were very generous portions which we both greatly appreciated! The curry goat was very tasty, well seasoned with lots of gravy. My husband is a great cook, so when he says something tastes good, take it as a compliment. He thoroughly enjoyed his oxtail meal. At least we know where to go now for some good Jamaican food the next time we are in Georgia. Kudos to you lot! Big up your status!
