Goulart Square Bakery

Goulart Square Bakery is absolutely worth the hype! It’s in a perfect location—super close to the beach for grabbing treats before a summer day on the sand, or for a little car picnic in the beach parking lot on those colder days. ​It was busy when I visited, but for good reason—there were literally 10 people waiting for the bread rolls to come out of the oven. You cannot get it fresher than that! I grabbed a mix of meat, chicken, and tuna rissóis, as well as some cod cakes and Portuguese rolls, and everything was incredible. Even with the crowd, the girls at the counter were fast, super friendly, and took the time to explain all the different options. A New Bedford must!

Got some delicious portuguese pops from Goularts Square Bakery. They were freshly baked and still warm. Pops are light, airy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. If the pops are warm you're in for a treat. Had their pasteis de nata as well. They were okay.

Had bugs and roaches visible to eyesight, the natas were dry and overcooked. Like a scrambled egg. Linguica roll was hollow and tasted rotten. This bakery is horrible. Rude staff and just overall terrible experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU COME HERE DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.

Fresh warm pops, delicious sweet bread and Portuguese bread, the best pasteis de nata- with a variety to choose from, biscoitos, bolos levedos, St. Jorge cheese, and other delicious freshly made sweet and savory pastries, service with a smile. What is not to love about Goulart Square Bakery?

Amazing place. The owner is gracious and kind and very proud and happy about their creations like it should be. De natas are heavenly and out of this world My first time here and in general first time tasting de natas and I am a fan! Devoured a few in the car. Will always get some to go whenever I'm around.
