Great Harvest Bread Co. Lake Charles

First time at Great Harvest Bread Co. Wanted to get a king cake on this Lundi Gras. Thought I had probably gotten there to late around 2:00pm but they still had plenty. Chose the White Chocolate Pecan Praline and I made an excellent choice!! It is so moist and flavorful with lots of pecans and white chocolate morsels. Love the icing and Mardi Gras sprinkles on top instead of the colored sugars. We have tried several different flavored king cakes from many locations in Lake Charles this season and this is BY FAR THE BEST!!

I’d say this use to be my favorite breakfast place but for some reason it’s not as good as it used to be. As you can see the 2nd pic is what great harvest posted as what my sandwich should have looked like. The egg looks real and good amount of jelly and cheese on their sandwich, I ordered the New Orleans jazz no customizations to it… but I got no cheese and idk about jelly looks like they tried to put a teaspoon of it on there, not sure bc I tried to eat it and it was so dry. Mind you, I doordashed this order but I knew DoorDash would not bring me a new one so I drove up there to get it remade and asked for the manager and she told me that DoorDash would of brought me a new one if I would of contacted them which is not the case at all, she told me there was nothing she could do since I bo

This is my favorite place in lake Charles. Any time im in town and they're open, I make a point to stop in for a meal or a little treat. The staff is always friendly and the food is always great. The one time there was an issue was I think I got an expired tub of chicken salad and next time I went in, the owner recognized my voice and he was extremely apologetic. Wasn't enough of an issue to stop me coming back though i hope it was a learning opportunity for young staff to learn the importance of rotating inventory. See you soon Great Harvest! It pains me to not be able to give this place 5 stars. If it was solely about the food quality, I would but unfortunately it is not. I order from this place very frequently and I just love the food BUT most of the time, I do not receive the food I ordered or it is made incorrectly. I have tried many sandwiches based on the fact that they send me the wrong one so I am trying a new sandwich apart from the one I actually ordered. While they have all been delicious, it would be great to get ONE order sent to me the exact way I ordered it. I don’t always have the convenience of driving to the restaurant on my own to pick up so I rely heavily on online ordering, like most hard working moms do! I ordered 2 bread puddings and an apple cinnamon bread on THEIR website. An hour after I ordered it they called because they didnt have the bread but would replace it. Fine. Supposed to be available the next day. The next day we went to pick it up. They didnt have it but assured me that they would bake a new one and have it ready in 3 hours. An hour after that she called and said "oh I forgot we aren't baking any bread today. Can you come and get it monday" No! Thats 2 whole days away. I asked for a refund and they (very reluctantly) said yes. But its been a week and I still haven't received anything. If i dont receive anything this week I'm going to dispute it with my credit card company.
