Great Taste Bakery & Restaurant

I went there yesterday for a family gathering. We came to enjoy some quality time together and have a good moment. We didn’t have to wait and were seated right away. We ordered some food, and after tasting it, it was just okay. The Singapore mai fun was not very flavorful. I liked the veal ribs with string beans, but they were stingy with the meat it felt more like a plate of string beans than veal. My dad wanted some ginger oil with the soy sauce chicken, but the waitress said they don’t provide that with this dish. I thought that was strange because it’s just a small cup of sauce that we wanted to enjoy with the chicken(if they said they just genuinely doesn't have it we will understand). It’s a pretty small dim sum place but they make the most out of it! The servers were attentive. As for the food, I thought the selection and quality of the food was average compared to other dim sum places I’ve been to. Nothing that was phenomenal, but nothing that was bad either. I particularly liked the shrimp dumplings. They also had a photo of red bean buns dressed like minions on the wall that we ordered. However, they gave us what I think are egg yolk buns instead, with no minions which was disappointing. Not sure if it was a language barrier or if they messed up our order.

The atmosphere was grimy, food was hella mid with minimal flavour, disappointed that I couldn't detect work hei with the chow fun noodles. I packed up most of the food so that I could jazz it up later and while I was paying my bill the waitress guilt tripped me into paying more tip. I fished around my bag and found another dollar bringing the tip to 20%.. I handed it to her after she mopped the floor with chemicals and the waitress couldn't be bothered in thanking me. Kinda sucks that I ate at this restaurant when there were so many others to choose from. Never again.

I didn’t want to write this review because I don’t want a crowd to surge to this hidden gem!! The molten egg yolk buns and fried turnip cake were actually unbeatable

The sponge cake was dry. Even worse, the black sesame soup tasted sour and old. It had a strange aftertaste and did not seem fresh at all. I’m very concerned it may have been expired. Serving food that tastes spoiled is unacceptable and unsafe.
