Grit Coffee, Crozet

Ordered two oat milk chai lattes. Gave us a regular coffee latte with milk... and the other Chai latte was way too sweet and boiling hot. Went to mudhouse and got two proper chai lattes. With two other good coffee shops in Crozet you'd think this shop would step up its game.

Poorly managed. Would like to see the staff have a better system. Great location, food was good. Shouldn’t get my cup of tea after my hot food is prepared.

I live in the neighborhood and was loving the walk over to Grit Coffee because I know they have delicious breakfast pastries From Season's Yield Farms only to arrive at 9:20 am to see that everything is sold out already, except for a few muffins and a few cookies. This does not build confidence in going again. A coffee restaurant is supposed to have enough food to serve customers past the hour of 9:20 am! It may have been a fluke, but I would like to understand how you can be out of things so early. Are people who are "in-the-know" ordering online? I would love to come back but I will do so reluctantly until I know there will be enough food to service all customers. Very disappointed in my neighborhood coffee shop.

Update: Since posting this review, I have observed improved staffing and morale at the Grit location in Crozet. The coffee is still excellent as usual and the manager always does a great job supporting the employees and providing a positive customer service experience. Original Review: Grit ownership and leadership need to address the poor staffing of the Grit location in Old Trail, Crozet. Today I was in this location for at least 25 minutes: I waited 5-10 minutes for the barista to take my order when I was the only one waiting in line, then I waited another 15 minutes for 2 iced Americanos before checking on the status of my drinks- only to find there were still 3 tickets ahead of mine. This place is awesome. Great atmosphere with indoor (comfy seats!) and outdoor seating. A little nook in the corner where your kiddo can play with some toys or a small chalk board. I had the black bean hummus wrap for lunch then on a second visit (the next day) the avocado toast; both were delicious. Definitely coming back here the next time I'm in town!
