Gyro Cafe

We wanted to love this place and after every bite I tried to tell myself it isn’t that bad… no, no, it is not bad at all. But I just couldn’t do it. The food is just sub par. Nothing in this restaurant seems fresh. I noticed some other reviewers mention this same thing. We suspect the hummus had actually gone bad, it had a sharp tangy (not like lemon) taste, we couldn’t even eat it. Spanakopita was super greasy (see pictures) The gyro slices were pre cut and stale. Although the Greek salad was in fact fresh, it was underwhelming both from portion size and from ingredient perspective for a $10 entree. I had a chance to try their döner plate. I heard that they have a new döner master and wanted to give a try. Döner taste was close to Döner point in Paterson, NJ. That would be good if they offered Tombik döner style too. Overall I will go back to get more döner. It is conveniently located next to Taco Mac.

Previously, i have visited this restaurant couple of times for their Gyro. However this time I have visited for their "Doner Kebap". I have heard that they have started serving Doner Kebap on Fridays and Saturdays. Just after work, I wanted to give a try. And Doner was delicious. I don't know why, it made me feel same Doner as my childhood in Turkey. How you should Doner? Take a piece of "lavash" (aka tortilla), put some Doner meat, some onion, rap it and eat it. No need anything else 🙂 I have tried Doner in different states like VA, TX, NC, SC and NJ. Accept the NJ, this one is far better/delicious. I am happy that in Atlanta, we have this delicious Doner. Not: Please don't tell Doner as Gyro. They are completely different tastes.

Tried to eat here tonight. Restaurant closes at 9pm as stated on door. I arrived at 8:20 to find the door locked. The lady came to the door and told me they were closed and the door was wrong. Had to go eat at the sushi factory next door. The picture is AFTER I ate and left the Sishi Factory.
