Hali’a by Side Street Inn

When my sister used to live in town and we would visit, she would take us to Side Street Inn every time. Now that she lives in the burbs, it's a bit of a trek. I saw that Hali'a had recently opened up near her, so we ordered takeout for dinner one night. We had: -"The Works" Fried Rice (signature fried rice with kim chee and lup cheong) - the signature fried rice already has bacon, Portuguese sausage, and char siu in it, so if you get "The Works", it'll be extra meaty. I didn't love the char siu in it. It was a bit dry and had this smoky flavor I didn't care for -Side Street inn's Famous Pan-Fried Pork Chops - I'm normally not a pork chop gal but I will eat a fried pork chop because when done correctly, it is juicy. Ewa Beach provides a truly exceptional setting. We are pleased to announce the opening of our esteemed Kapahulu restaurant at this new Ewa location. The Chinese Chicken Salad presented an appealing visual and culinary experience, offering a generous portion suitable for two to four individuals. The pork chops were outstanding, ideally portioned for two. The original fried rice, a consistent comfort food favorite, provided ample servings for four. We are delighted with this development.

Everybody sang Happy Birth Day. Good food, good times. Creme Brulee was just like Kincaids when Ward was a thing.

A welcome addition to Wai Kai in Ewa Beach! Same great service and ono food you expect from Sidestreet Inn. Our server, Abcde is a Rockstar at her job! The staff we interacted with were all super friendly and accommodating as well, even during the dinner rush. Plenty of parking and make a reservation if you can, otherwise it was a 2-3 hour wait depending on party size.

I'm so happy that Side Street Inn opened a location in Ewa Beach! It's such a treat not having to drive all the way to Kapahulu anymore. We've already been here twice -- once for my daughter's birthday and again for my husband's -- and both times were amazing. The service here is top-notch! From the moment you walk in, everyone is so warm and welcoming -- from the hosts to the servers to the cooks. You can really feel the aloha. The decor is really nice too! Now let's talk about the food... honestly, it's even better than the Kapahulu location (and that's saying a lot!). We've tried the Pork Chops (way better than Kapahulu's), Farmers & Tofu Salad, Boneless Kalbi, Garlic Chicken, Signature Fried Rice, Yakisoba, and for the kiddos -- Popcorn Chicken and fries. Every single dish was ONO!
