HanBat Restaurant 한밭 Duluth,GA

We had 갈비탕 (kalbi tang; short rib soup) and 우거지 갈비탕 (wooguhji kalbi tang; spicy cabbage short rib soup). Both were amazing. Service was prompt and friendly. The complementary warm barley tea they give you was nice as well. They make their kimchi in-house, which is really delicious. It's spicy, abit unripe which makes it refreshing. We would go back to the restaurant for the kimchi. We strongly recommend the kimchi and the two soups we got.

This restaurant, formerly known as Sam’s 수산시장, has been radically transformed into a Korean traditional restaurant, so we were curious to visit for the first time. The space itself felt lively and energetic, filled with both customers and servers moving about, which gave the restaurant a vibrant atmosphere. We were seated in a more private room for the four of us, which we appreciated for conversation and comfort. We ordered the 만두전골, which we enjoyed overall. The dish was comforting and satisfying, and it reflected the restaurant’s intention to present more traditional Korean flavors. My friend and I visited HanBat recently on a busy Sunday afternoon yet we still were able to be seated right away. The building used to be Sam's Sushi, tucked neatly away in a forgotten corner outside Gwinnett Place Mall and has retained its cozy interior after all these years. The servers were warm and welcoming, almost enthusiastic to serve us our food. Immediately, my friend ordered the seafood pancake and I agreed with the decision bc HanBat's seafood pancake consists of squid and shrimp, both of which I can eat. The $20 pancake is definitely meant to be shared, as it is stuffed with green onions, peppers, shrimp and squid in every bite. I personally would have preferred a thinner pancake that is crispier on the outside, but I understand the stuffing would have suffered with a longer

Kimchi is soooo good! Steamed dumplings are amazing! The stew was so delicious and meat is very tender! I have been back here several times and every time it’s great!!

Love this place. My advice to anyone searching for an authentic, great Korean spot is to see the patrons. If most are composed of elderly Koreans then you found the right spot. Service is top notch. Food is amazing. They make kimchi in house and it’s amazing.
