Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream National City

My family has been coming here ever since we found out about it 3 years ago. My son and I normally order hurricane oreos...my son's came out ok...just a bit skimped on than usual (not filled to the top). However, when I received mine...1/4 of the cup was empty....and there were only BIG oreo chunks. If I wanted to buy a tub of vanilla ice cream and an individual pack of oreos I would have done so. My hurricane taste nothing but of vanilla ice cream. I did go back to try to rectify the situation, but the person who tried to fix it...made the same mistake again. Maybe she didn't understand the problem or maybe it was the machine. I was just over it and left. It looked exactly the same as the picture I sent. We absolutely love the quality of the ice cream—you can truly taste it in every flavor. The team is consistently helpful and knowledgeable, always willing to guide us in choosing the perfect order. This has quickly become our new favorite ice cream spot🩷✨

Tons of choices here! Service was kind and serving size more than enough. We had four flavors - Chocoholic Chunk, Oreo Cookie Dough, Strawberry, and Butter Pecan. That is the order of how much we liked the flavors... most to least. The strawberry had an imitation flavor and the butter pecan tasted nothing like butter pecan and had no pecans. Not sure if we would go back but if we do, we'd definitely try different flavors.

This the ice cream place is delicious. I love the retro atmosphere and that everything is fresh. They take a lot of pride, and they're dessert, making. There are various ice cream flavors that you have to try. This particular location tends to be very busy. So you may wanna google and look at wait times.

Fantastic ice cream and fantastic service! This was my first time visiting this shop after passing by several times and observing lines out the door. My ice cream did NOT disappoint! I chose Blueberry Cobbler, which was excellent, and I can’t wait to try some other incredible flavors. The staff were friendly and efficient. 10/10 recommend!
