Handels Homemade Ice Cream-Palm Desert

I was craving ice cream and my husband was all for it. We decided to check out Handel's after looking at all the different options. Man, oh man, we were not disappointed with their freshly made ice cream! The female employee was patient and kind when we asked about what ingredients were in the different flavors we have never seen before. She knew it all without even looking! My husband picked the chocolate peanut butter brownie, which he loved! I chose mint with oreo and salted caramel truffle. The mint with oreo was delicious! I could have gone without the salted caramel truffle personally. The brownie in the chocolate peanut butter brownie ice cream was actually soft like it just came out of the oven! We are so used to brownies being hard or stale, that this came as a welcome surprise! 1

I recently visited Handel's Homemade Ice Cream in Palm Desert, and it was one of the best ice cream experiences I've ever had! The kids ordered vanilla and chocolate in a waffle cone, and I tried the peanut butter and jelly flavor. It was creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the texture was perfectly smooth. I highly recommend this spot for anyone in the area looking for a treat. You won't be disappointed!

Best Homemade Ice Cream ever! I had the chance to experience Handels in San Diego. This was my first taste of Handels. Their homemade flavors were interesting and different while still being delicious. I thought today, being a relatively hot day, would be a good time to try the Handels here in Palm Desert. I ordered the Banana Split. This can feed a family of four, or one really hungry person (that was me). I ordered it traditional, with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice-creams. The bananas are sliced, which makes it easier to eat. Loved all the toppings (hot fudge, chopped cherries, crushed pineapple, strawberries and the chopped peanuts. My only regret is that I have only five stars to give! Handel's Homemade ice cream has put all other ice cream places I've been to (including the famous Farrells back in the day) to shame. I went there after dinner at 830pm in early February and there was probably 15 people in line. That tells you right there how good the ice cream is. The first night I had a SMALL butter pecan in a waffle cone, the small is the equivalent of a large anywhere else. Three and a half scoops! Did I mention that is their SMALL! The butter pecan had whole pecans in it and was to die for... and my first time having that flavor. No matter what the flavor, it's rich and creamy. My chocolate-loving grandson gives it five stars. His chocolate- covered face is a testament to its goodness. Remember: small is large here.
