Hanwoori | Premier Korean BBQ Restaurant in Fort Lee, NJ

My wife and I dined here for lunch with another couple. The restaurant has a high ceiling (which I like) and an upscale interior with Korean themes. The overall atmosphere was excellent. We were quite impressed by the great variety of authentic Korean dishes on the menu. We ordered three appetizers - Haemul Pajeon, Cold Sliced Pork, and Fried Eggplant & Shrimp. All of them were high quality in both presentation and taste. We were pleased to learn the pork was from a barley-fed pig. Among the side dishes, I especially liked the kimchi, which was properly fermented. We had grilled sirloin (prime grade) and naengmyeon (cold noodles), which was an ideal combination as usual. High end Korean BBQ dining experience at Fort Lee. The interior is grand and luxury vibes. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The host offering to take my coat made it a nice touch of service. We had a combo with 3 meats, miso halibut, seafood pancake and spicy squid (to me it was VERY spicy). Meat quality is good. The staff cooked it beautifully. Seafood pancake was full of ingredients and the sauce brought it to another level. Miso halibut and vegetables were seared nicely. The staff were all attentive. The main grill chef/waiter did a great job on the meat. The manager came couple times to check on us. There were at least 2 more staff helping them to serve our table. They were a great team. Highly recommend Hanwoori for a unique Korean BBQ experience.

This place truly stands out in New Jersey’s crowded and competitive Korean food scene. Every dish strikes a delicate balance with perfect seasoning that feels thoughtful and refined without being overdone. The standout for me was the black cod in a pot. Silky, deeply flavorful, and truly unforgettable. The space itself is spotless and edgy with a modern vibe that still feels welcoming. You can tell there is real care behind both the food and the overall experience. Highly recommend.

It was my first time here, and I honestly enjoyed the food so much. I’m Korean, so I’m pretty picky when it comes to Korean food, but this place was truly clean, well-balanced, and delicious. The side dishes weren’t salty at all—lightly seasoned, yet each ingredient’s natural flavor really stood out. I especially loved the spicy stir-fried octpus.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Everything was seamless The food was outstanding—beautifully prepared, and consistently excellent across the table. Everyone in our group was impressed. The service struck the perfect balance, attentive without ever feeling rushed or intrusive. The restaurant itself is stunning, creating a warm, elegant atmosphere that made the celebration feel truly special. It was exactly the kind of place you hope for when marking an important milestone.
