Hartz Chicken Buffet

I had a soft spot for this place as I saw all seniors working here in this location. The vibe of this place is old-fashioned, and somehow, I feel like, it is very Houstonian style. I had a slow lunch buffet by myself, next to the windows, enjoyed the food and the vibe here. I tried liver and gizzards, I removed all of the bread banter around, it was good, not smelly at all. $16 for all you can eat buffet here, I ate a lot of beetroot and green bean, really liked both of them. Grilled chicken (?) was great, much better than the fried ones, not a fan of fried food though. Sometimes, the beauty of having food is just sitting there and enjoying food slowly, seeing old couples in the store and having lunch together after certain amount of years together…

The food is always delicious and big portions for the price. However I imagine the place isn't beautiful inside so I dont go in so I dont change my opinion of the food. I'll continue to visit.

The best old school Hartz buffet location in town. Always hot, fresh & satisfying. Always, clean, organized & pleasant to the eye. Comfort food at its best. I absolutely love the okra & tomatoes over white rice. The fried chicken livers and gizzards are always on point.

Very cozy place, like a cafeteria. Self serve. I liked it, not bad at all. Rolls are really good. & they also have a ice cream machine. 🍦 The price went up to 13.99. For that much I could of went to golden corral for lunch. Senior citizen is 1 $ less.

1st time eating here took it to go the chicken was hot and fresh French fries, fried okra, mashed potatoes and gravy, and mac & cheese, the rolls were delicious I couldn’t stop eating the rolls. Will come back next time on my visit. If you haven’t try it you are missing out.
