Helen Sands Swimming Pool

Drove nearly 30 minutes to get here with my 2 year old and 7 year old. Pay to go in. We go through the hassle of changing and get in the water for two minutes for a young guy to come ask how old my daughter is then tells me she isn’t old enough to use the pool. They have a wading pool that is 6” to 1’9”. I said then what is she supposed to do and he said she could use the splash pad except it isn’t working. I asked why the young lady at the desk who took mg money failed to mention any of this when she took my payment. He just shrugs and walked away. Unbelievable. We aren’t from around here but if we were I can assure you we would never come back. What a waste of our vacation time.

This place would be nice if the lifeguards weren’t screaming at kids and adults the way one of them was screaming. Young lifeguard is on a power trip. I rear other reviews of staff and just thought maybe they got yelled but by out experience they were rude. Also you arent allowed to swim in the 6ft and 5ft area which is the last 2 ropes on the picture they need to open up more the pool because its only opened at the 3’9” area. Heaters in the pool also are not work water is extremely cold. We left after an hour. Ive been to many public pools this one has been by far the worst with staff and their pool rules.. please take your family elsewhere like a water park. Do not waste your time here

This place is great, it doesn't get packed its only $3 per person and the slide is fantastic. The only downside is you cant bring any food or snacks to eat, your only allowed bottled drinks. But my kids had a great time and the staff is really friendly.

The lifeguards at this pool lack professionalism and common sense. Before we even entered, one was already blowing his whistle and yelling. My husband tried to swim laps in an empty lap lane—there was no sign prohibiting entry through the ladder—yet he was told to leave. Later, the same guard yelled at my 9-year-old for using a swim mask with a nose cover, despite the heavy chlorine. Throughout our hour there, lifeguards repeatedly blew whistles, yelled, and reprimanded guests, creating an unwelcoming, tense atmosphere. This was my first and last visit; the staff’s behavior felt more like harassment than safety enforcement.
