Henry James Bar-B-Que

Food was lukewarm. Hush puppies were good flavor wise but vey greasy. Sweet tea is very sweet and comes by the gallon. Vinegar based coleslaw and bbq sauce. The bathroom floor was soaked when we first went in. It seemed like someone was mopping without ringing the water out of the mop before using it on the floor.

We made our first visit to Henry James BBQ and it's in an older part of town. It's an older restaurant so keep that in mind in regards to the atmosphere. The service is decent. There is no table service. It is counter service only. The food we came on a Tuesday night and evidently they only do the barbecue ribs. I want to say Thursday, Friday Saturday but we were not anywhere close so had to reconfigure what we were going to get as there was no way to prepare for this. I did get the chopped barbecue and one of the other members of our group got slice barbecue. The slice barbecue is better than the chopped. I'll say that right now. The coleslaw is very finely chopped, so it has an interesting texture and not received well by everyone who tried it at the table, but there were a few that did

Good food, staff is always helpful & nice. The restaurant is also always very clean. Also, the honey butter for the hush puppies is ON POINT(don’t let your husband talk you into trying one with ketchup🤮🤢🤣🤣) && the sweet BBQ sauce w/ a tad of the hot ontop of the BBQ makes it 100X better IMO.

The best BBQ spot in Asheboro! Their bbq sauce is vinegar based and available in sweet or hot. I recommend their pulled pork plate and hush puppies (grab the honey butter cups by the condiment area up front!) and their cobblers and banana pudding. Overall reliable spot with good portion sizes, the service is quick and friendly too. The inside is spacious with lots of seating.

Best BBQ around in my opinion! We always come here to get the best bbq! But they have other things as well! Their chicken pie is also really good! Be sure to check them out! I believe they also do catering! And some of the best people I know work there!
