Henry Waldinger Memorial Library

Staff are always very helpful, courteous and nice. Love going here with my grandkids to read books and attend workshops. Very informative with current events for the community.

Generally speaking, this library is one of the best ones in Long Island. Most of the librarians who work here are extremely kind and helpful, and they have computers and printers as well as magazines and photocopiers, a video and DVD collection and a water fountain near the restroom. They even have free museum passes for valid cardholders, and frequently organize various fun activities for families. They even frequently sell used books and magazines near their main entrance, which vary in price but are mostly 10 cents each. A very calm and peaceful place for studying and relaxing, or for greatly expanding your personal horizons by entering a thousand other worlds and universes.

This library is subpar. A core purpose of any library is to provide a quiet, peaceful environment for reading, studying, and reflection. Unfortunately, this location consistently fails in that regard. Loud patrons having conversations with each other (or on the phone) and screaming children are frequently present, and the librarians make no effort to enforce silence or maintain order. It's disappointing to see a space meant for learning and focus become so noisy and distracting. The staff needs to take a more proactive role in creating the quiet atmosphere a library is meant to offer.

It was great! Peaceful to work for school and internet is fast. I wish there was more outlets to plug-in phones at individual tables but overall great. Definitely coming back to be able to have quiet time to do some work.

This is my second time here at this location this week. I was notified by three different employees within 10 minutes that they were closing at 9pm. To which I continued to say yes I see the time and was already notified. At 8:55 they turned off all of the lights leaving me in the dark. This is very rude and off putting.
