The library staff are professional but friendly. This building is absolutely beautiful! It’s worth a visit even as a tourist, and definitely worth a visit if you are local! They offer ebooks and physical books and an array of programs too. 10/10
A true gem hidden away in Hillsboro that I would suggest to any traveler passing through. The building is incredibly beautiful from the inside, with free coffee, plush seating, and some stunning outlooks on the second level. Speaking of which, the only reason this is not a five star is because of a single librarian. While the others were cool, one of them stopped me while I was halfway up the stairs, asking, "Where are you going?" It was said in the tone of voice, "What do you think you are doing?" I would have let it slide, but she repeated it in the same tone. I told her simply, "THESE stairs go to THOSE seats. I'm going There." Then continued my ascent.
Fabulous resource for Hillsboro residents. Fast internet and workstations. Scanning and nice printing at a low price. A real asset to the city.
A beautiful place, with a lot of books to read, on audio, coffee, computers, different programs for everyone. I’ve seen the library change during the years from listening to books on records in the children’s library to computers. The restrooms even have a lower sink for the kids to reach. Come check it out. You will love it & the staff is great.
So, I have always loved libraries... but this is bar none my favorite. Two stories tall with a basement, it is architecturally beautiful, and immediately sets a different mood from the busy world outside. There are stairs and elevators, but whichever you take you really need to go upstairs and see the reading books on the second floor: the perfect place to sit and study, while still having a view of the rest of the library because, yes, the second floor overlooks the first floor. The librarians are always helpful and tend to be very obliging, and bright-eyed, and kind. One in particular is a bit quiet and might be assumed to be tired or non-engaging: please do not be fooled, she is the most helpful, dutiful, and caring person you could ever speak with. I had a mild health issue and collaps
