Hip Hop Fish & Chicken

I already made up my mind that I wouldn’t be going back after the experience I had with the cook and cashier (all because I asked for my fish to be fried hard) but then I found parasites in my fish. Of course they were dead but still present.

Was in town for Cowboy Carter and stumbled upon this place and omg I’m glad I did. The food was crack literally. Make sure you get CRACK on your chicken. The food was soo good. Chicken was crispy. Okra could have been fried a bit harder. Mac & Cheese was good. The Arnold Palmer was the BEST I’ve ever had. You can’t beat the portions and prices.

Probably the most horrible food I have eaten recently. This is the very first time I have ever ordered from this restaurant. The flounder looked food on the outside but tasted old and looked old inside. The clams were super salty and was sprinkled with salt. The owner claims it was lemon pepper. Checked with family member and clearly it was salt we all know what lemon pepper looms and taste like The okra was okay but again very salty. Only the collards was not salty. Will never order from this restaurant again

Always fresh, always hot, and always hitting the spot! The catfish nuggets are crispy and perfectly seasoned, and the fried chicken has that signature Hip Hop 'crack seasoning' that keeps you coming back. Great portions for the price, clean spot, friendly service, and plenty of parking.

My first time trying Hip Hop Fish and Chicken. I’m new to the area and was in need of a good chicken spot and this place came highly recommended by my niece who is a big foodie. I’ve been hearing so much about this “crack seasoning” and today I finally got to experience the hype! Honestly these were the best wings that I have had here in the DMV. I’ve had most of the competitors seasoned wings and either their chicken was over cooked with what should’ve been a great seasoned piece of chicken or vice versa, the chicken was cooked well but lacked the flavor profile. Either way Hip Hop Fish and Chicken are hands down the best in the area and my new go to for fried chicken. This location was clean, the food was fresh and customer service was great! Money well spent. Family friendly environm
