Customer Reviews
The dim sum here was pretty good. Every dish was prepared well and tasted fresh. I'm not sure why the restaurant's ratings are so high though. While the food was fine, the prices were exorbitant, especially given the small portions. Perhaps the greatest offender was the $18 plate of black and pepper pork spare ribs. What we got were 8 little pieces of deep fried pork that were mostly just bones. The soup dumplings were very average. The wrapper was too thick and the meat filling wasn't terribly flavorful. The lotus-wrapped sticky rice was also very average. The small piece of pork in the middle was tasty, but the sticky rice lacked any real fragrance or flavor. The truffle salt shrimp toast was our favorite dish. Service was great - attentive and friendly . The restaurant is very sma
Wwnt to this place after seeing the good reviews. The crystal skin on the shrimp dumplings and rice noodle roles are really good and chewy. Those are the 2 dishes I'd recommend. The rest are just ok. For e.g., there is absolutely no reason why they should be charging $14 for siumai when it is typicalylly $7 to $8 in other dim sum restaurants and it taste just average.
Oh damn, this place was so delicious. Came here for lunch and had the pan fried noodles, shrimp crepe rolls and the eggplant was AMAZING. Also had the egg custard and I’m like damn I wish I lived in San Fran. I will just have to make the trip from Seattle more often! 😌
Chose to try this spot because it was close to me hotel and the number of positive reviews. I am glad I swung by for dim sum. A broader menu than you normally see at dim sum restaurants which was nice and you can tell that everything is cooked to order. I tried the chicken feet (always do!), their fish Cheung fun and steamed pork and shrimp dumplings. The chicken feet were very good. A little spice, but a nice sweetness to the sauce and the meat was tender and non gelatinouus. The shrimp and porn dumplings are very homemade, packed with filling but rather lacking flavor. You had to dip them in chili soy sauce for any flavor at all. The Cheung fun was fairly bland, as they generally are, but really great texture and for me and unusual sight on the menu.
You can't deny that the quality here is amazing, but the prices for the dim sum really have you second-guessing life choices. We ordered 7 dishes among 3 people and for the total to come out to $60+ per person is insane, especially when a fried rice costs $30 and the tea wasn't complementary. The space itself is quite small with tight seating. You'll need to wait for a spot, which can take a while, but it's nice that they don't rush you to leave. You order off a menu and put check marks next to items you want.
