Hokkaido Restaurant

Had a great experience at Hokkaido in Evans for dinner. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entry, and taken care of by a friendly gentleman. For our appetizer we tried the crab and cheese Rangoon. The Rangoon were fried crisp while not being very greasy, and it had a delicious, creamy, filling. The size and portion also made it a great appetizer to share with the table. For my entree, I got the teriyaki chicken, which comes with steamed rice, miso soup, and a salad. The teriyaki chicken was served hot on a sizzling plate, and came with vegetables and caramelized onions. The chicken was tender and juicy and the vegetables tasted fresh as well. The portion size was also very generous. You can easily split your entree into 2 portions and you have something to take home to eat later.

Ambience was fantastic! Great customer service. I had the Rangoons and a California roll which was tasty. My other half had spicy crab roll and tuna avocado roll. The spicy crab was delicious and will get again. The tuna was good too, his rolls came with a soup. Will return again!

My wife and I found Hokkaido here on Maps. She likes sushi, I'm more of a hibachi guy. My wife's sushi was very good, according to my wife, who I wouldn't dream of disagreeing with. I had the Steak hibachi and I can tell you that it was definitely very good. I asked for medium rare on the steak and it was perfectly cooked. The sauce was very tasty, but didn't overwhelm the bites of steak. The same sauce was on the veggies they were delicious. The fried rice wasn't crowded with additional veggies, making the flavor of the fried rice come through. In short, my meal was excellent. For both meals, portions were generous. My girlfirend and I did not have a good experience here. The service was subpar and the sushi / rolls were mediocre at best. To start, we had to ask for chopsticks at a sushi restaurant. That was weird. Next, our wine glasses came wet with water dripping down them like they were removed from the washer and served without an attempt to dry them. For a water cup this might go unnoticed but for glasses of nice wine, this was unacceptable. Next, there was very little follow-up of service and we had to ask multiple times for items. Last, the sushi and rolls were not bad, but very little flair or flavor to make it stand out. First time here! This is Hidden gem! We tried the lobzilla roll & crouching dragon- both were so delish! The prices are very reasonable! Great service by Stephen! We will def be back! #newfavesushispot
