HomeTaste is hands-down the best Chinese food I’ve had in Buffalo. Everything was bursting with authentic flavor and came out fast, fresh, and perfectly cooked. I tried several dishes and loved every one: The Mapo Tofu with Beef was beautifully spicy and savory with that signature numbing Sichuan heat, perfectly balanced with tender beef and silky tofu. The Egg Tofu was delicate, rich, and lightly crisped on the outside, absolute comfort food! Stir-Fried Green Beans and Cabbage are classics, both dishes were simple but incredibly flavorful. The Chongqi Little Noodles were chewy, spicy, though it is a special, my group agreed that it wasn’t a favorite compared to the other dishes. The Fish Soup with Clear Noodles were light, fragrant, and soothing; a great contrast to the spicier plates.

The food is the best although the restaurant has very limited seating. This restaurant has the most authentic Chinese cuisine in Buffalo.

Authentic and delicious Chinese food. The Northeastern dishes are excellent, and the lady boss is warm, friendly, and beautiful. The dumplings are handmade, with generous filling and juicy broth. The pickled cabbage is homemade and naturally fermented.

Lovely ambiance (interior is clean and bathroom was nice), prompt service, and the dumplings were UNFATHOMABLY juicy and succulent. I can see why this place has such a good rep!

Literally writing this as I scarf down the rest of my leftovers. This restaurant makes some of the best authentic Chinese food in Buffalo. To preface, if you’re looking for American Chinese food like sesame chicken or lo mein, I would go somewhere else, as a lot of the negative reviews about Home Taste were from people expecting the fried, over sweet American stuff. Anyway, I ordered the pork and leek dumplings, fresh green beans with minced pork, and spicy chicken for takeout. Everything was seasoned to perfection, cooked perfectly, and packaged nicely. I’m definitely coming back. The drawbacks about this place is that it’s a very small mom and pop shop. It’s a family working the whole restaurant and they’re always in a rush and busy.
