Super nice service—they even asked me if chicken broth (which they use for the jjambbong) was okay, as I had asked if there was any pork in it. Seeing as we were going to order half and half’s but didnt as we couldn’t swap the different types of jajjangmyun in it, they brought us extra bowls to share. And the jjambbong was amazing! Little salty, but it hit the spot.
I had the Tangsuyuk and Jjajangmyeon combo for lunch. The meal was tasty, and the portion was good enough to satisfy my hunger. I also received their homemade mandu as a service, which was a bonus. There was an incident with my meal, but it was rectified professionally and with sincerity. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a craving for Chinese-Korean food.
The jajangmyeon had plastic in it and someone in our party almost ate it. It’s a hazard to eat the food here. Also, we found hair in the jjamppong as well. The staff were not apologetic at all, and were not understanding. They wanted to charge the same price without any accommodation for the stuff in the food. Awful food, and awful service. Will not be back here again.
This was my second visit to Hong Ban Jang, and it was just as fantastic as the first. We ordered the jjajangmyeon, shabu jjamppong, chicken tangsuyuk and japchae, and every dish impressed. The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and flavorful, with the tangsuyuk perfectly crispy and the seasoning spot-on across the board. We’ll definitely be coming back again!
A self-service establishment. Cute atmosphere,. The seafood pancake was good but a bit greasy for my taste. The cold noodle soup was amazing, and so was the pork. You need to order and pay before you sit down. I will be returning again.
