Horace And Dickies seafood of Oxon Hill

Tried out Horace and Dickies at there newest location today. The guy at the counter was friendly. The catfish was EXCELLENT... no complaints there. The yams, coleslaw and potato salad were very good. What wasn't good is the following: 1. Green beans tasted like they came from a can. 2. Shrimp 🍤 wasn't tasty at all. 3. We ordered 4 pieces of fried wings that we never received but was charged for it. While the food was okay, I can't say I'd recommend coming here. We definitely won't be back. I was really hoping this location was going to be a great spot to eat at... but it wasn't. The meal wasn't worth the $80 we spent. I rate this location a 2.5 out of 5.

09/13/2024- My play sister and I stopped here after a funeral service around 1:00 pm. No lines. Plenty of parking. Clean place. Friendly staff. She ordered fried (batter) shrimp with a side of Tartar sauce! She said they were delicious! Okay. Yum.

I am hoping that this Horace and Dickies location will get better with time. I see that there is still work being done. It look like things are coming along. Hope to see a better portion options and deals. And yes I the fish do not have much season flavor and the sides werent hot, rather warm instead. I know that some people are able to have salt and really those who can can season their own food to their liking, but i think their should be a option for both kinds of people. The other food was seasoned nicely, which was jumbo fried shrimp, greens, macaroni and cheese, and french fries. Overall, I will return but not as often. The sizes and prices would not do for my family of 5

I order from this location today and I was livid. I order the seafood dinner that was $28.62. The fish was over cooked, the greens had no seasoning, the Mac and cheese was dried out, that mf crab ball ( the crabmeat ) was no good and the shrimps was bland as well. The place reeked of weed

A lot of people go here for nostalgia if they grew up in Washington DC. Area like myself. I love to see local Businesses thrive but I would say please do not wish your time going to the Southren ave location.. They gave me black Bert crab balls. They left out my mom's Mac. And cheese to her catfish platter The dude that cooked our order came out to smoke and weed. They didnt lab or sperate the orders, I tiped when I payed for my food witch I soon regret.
