Customer Reviews
The cakes are expensive and the taste is very average. The ingredients don't taste high quality. There's just no "wow factor" in the cakes. The service is bare minimum. The cashier couldn't care less to talk to me or take my order. Even though I was standing right in front of her, she never looked at me to take my order. Earl Grey cake tasted too strong of earl Grey, with no other flavor to balance it. The mochi balls tasted stale. Chestnut cake was the best. Strawberry cake tasted like a strawberry cake from an Asian supermarket.
I’ve been a loyal customer of Horizon Bakery for 4–5 years, going all the way back to its home-kitchen days. From small desserts to custom birthday cakes, I’ve followed the journey from the very beginning to the opening of the storefront—and the quality has always been consistently amazing. Among all the desserts, I can never get tired of the pork floss cake bites and the strawberry boba box—they are absolute must-orders every time. After moving to the Bay Area, whether it’s my own birthday or a friend’s, I always order custom cakes from here. I’ve placed at least 5+ custom cake orders, and each time the cake perfectly brought my ideas to life based on the reference photos I provided. I’ve always been very happy with the results. The only downside (and honestly a “good problem”) is that
I've never actually been to the physical store but I've had their cake a few times from friends or relatives for special occasions. Classic asian style cream cakes that are moist and not too sweet which I love. Their cheesecake(?) was really rich and tasty and I also loved their Christmas chocolate matcha strawberry cream cake!
A very small Asian bakery, where Egg Head used to be. The mochi ball puff is very delicious. The mochi ball has a slightly chewy texture and is filled with cream that is not too sweet. It is very dense and delicious, especially the chocolate cream with rice crackers that enhance the taste. The cake looks beautiful and is available in smaller sizes. I will try it next time. The Meatfloss Mini Sponge also tastes great, salty and sweet, 100% Asian flavor ,lol
Ordered a 6” cake based off of reading google and Yelp reviews. The cake was loved by everyone! Gorgeous appearance, light sponge cake, not too sweet, with fresh strawberries in the filling. They make their cakes the morning you pick them up. Easy online ordering. A nice alternative to the usual Whole Foods or Paris baguette cake (though a bit more expensive). Will definitely order for another occasion!
