Hot Peppercorn

We heard good things about the place and were on that side of Fairfax county so thought we’d give it a try. We got beef fried rice, hunan chicken, and salty fish and chicken fried rice. The salty fish and chicken fried rice didn’t look appealing but was actually the yummiest of everything. It is a little salty if you are sensitive to salt (my husband is) but I thought it was simple but flavorful and delicious. The hunan chicken was too gingery and not spicy enough. The beef fried rice was not very flavorful despite the gorgeous color. It was very busy so the service was alittle slow but that is our fault for coming during lunar new year.

Small portions but quality food. The Salt and Pepper Squid dish was excellent 👌, cooked just right, the squid came out crunchy and tender. The Mapo Tofu was a bit heavy on the peppercorn but still very tasty. We will definitely come back for more.

The was pretty good. We were there on a Tuesday evening and the Restaurant was a little busy. That being said the food is good. This was a celebration for My Birthday. We will definitely consider comeback if we are in the area.

For 30 years, we haven’t found a place that comes close to our childhood Chinese go-to spot. Well, we found it!! Their lo mein is excellent! Shrimp and broccoli is great too. Great deal with the luncheon special (before 3pm) - great portion sizes.

One of the best Chinese restaurants we had in VA that is well priced and portioned. The food was all fresh and good. We always order the dandan men noodles and their dim sum. The service was good and had a fun interaction to find out about Peking Duck which supposedly worded as Beijing Duck but foreigners before pronounced it differently. The place is huge and can accommodate big to small parties. You also have a spacious parking lot that is shared among the shops.
