Hot Pots

I’m writing this review for Freeman T. who had an experience which could’ve threatened his health. Last month November 2025, he ordered a fried turkey from Hot Pots for Thanksgiving. While Freeman prepared the turkey at home, he discovered that the giblets and internal packaging had been left inside the bird. This presents a potential health and safety risk, especially if the internal bag was plastic or if the turkey had been partially cooked or heated with the bag inside. When he contacted the owner (Shawn) to report the issue, he responded dismissively and stated he “didn’t want to make it anyway, rather than addressing the safety concern or offer any resolution. It also, concerned him that the owner may not take any precautions while preparing the food. Poultry improperly prepared

i casually order from them on doordash. had the pork chops and whitning fish with the mac and potato salad. as a person who grew up in CT with my family from the south, the food i’ve tried hits close to my childhood. i highly recommend.

Their desserts are pretty good but their food is just not that it does not speak soul food under any circumstance. The cabbage has no seasoning. No nothing is literally just cabbage steamed the mac & cheese is about the best thing you can get on the menu. I also have a chicken plate. The chicken was so basic not even close to soul food cooking and was dry I could toss it back.

Well I had posted a review way back in 2012 the food was amazing. But not today the pork chops are paper thin I don't know what happened to the Mac and cheese 🤢🤢 not good the cabbage no flavor the strawberry shortcake was good but a bit dry over all two stars ⭐⭐

HARTFORD classic been in the neighborhood for a long time. Food very good always. A returning customer if you ever in The Hartford county area. you want some good food, push up on hot pots and tell them that I sent you. Everything is pretty good . 8.5 out 10
