House Of Fortune

We ordered from this restaurant before, but for whatever reason, this time was the worst we have had, unfortunately. We ordered the eggplant, the texture was fine, but it tasted not remotely close to what it should taste like. Sweet and sour chicken, very thin chicken strips with a VERY THICK coating. The sauce was fine. The crispy beef, was TERRIBLE… there’s no beef at all. All we could taste was the coating. As you can see from the photo, it’s as thin as the tip of the chopsticks, no beef. Mind you this is over $17 on the menu. We ordered it straight from the restaurant’s website, and it took over 75 mins from order to delivery.

We just moved into the area and it’s our go to takeout spot now! Low google reviews somehow but over 2000 (!!!) +4.5 star reviews on Grubhub, DoorDash and UberEats combined. It came highly recommended by our coworkers. Is it Chinese fine dining? No. But does the takeout slap after those long days? Yes.

Ordered take out. Kung Pao chicken is usually my favorite but from here it just tasted like a bowl of super greasy chicken with peanuts. Not much other flavor and not spicy at all. The stars I did give were for portion sizing. If you like the taste it's a good value for the money. Most people can probably get a couple meals out of an order.

Bland overnight food that's just been reheated, and grossly overpriced for the quality given. How can they charge 4 things for $50 and give something that taste so bland? Seriously disappointed, ended up not sitting to well with my stomach afterwards as well. The only good thing was the dumplings that they didn't fully defrost, so you know it wasn't made by them. House of fortune has always been my favorite place since I was a kid, fond memories with my family, but they really ruined the franchise' name.

Normally wont even leave a bad review but o got sweet & sour chicken, sauce was way too thick. The hot & sour, horrible. Dumplings ok & donuts ok. Ill pass next time.
