Finding the perfect spot for a meal in Tarrytown can be a challenge, but Hudson Farmer & The Fish strikes a wonderful balance between historical charm and fresh, coastal cuisine. During my recent visit, I was immediately struck by the atmosphere; sitting right on the riverbank, you can practically feel the 19th-century history of the pier while catching glimpses of the Manhattan skyline in the distance. The menu is a seafood lover’s dream. I opted for the Squid Ink Linguine Vongole, which was exceptionally rich and briny. If you’re looking for something more classic, the Fish and Chips are golden and crisp, far exceeding the standard pub fare. For those not in the mood for seafood, the Farmers Double Stack Burger is a crowd-pleaser. While the food is undeniably fresh, some dishes—like the
Hudson Farmer and the Fish was such a lovely stop during our visit to Tarrytown! The food itself was fresh and flavorful, and the view from our outdoor table overlooking the Hudson River was absolutely stunning — you can even see Manhattan in the distance if you walk down the pier. I ordered the Squid Ink Linguine Vongole and it was really good — rich, briny, and beautifully cooked. My husband had the Hidden Fjord Scottish Salmon and liked it but wished for a little more on the plate. My mother-in-law got the clam pizza, which was tasty but could’ve used a touch more seasoning, while her husband really enjoyed the Farmers Double Stack Burger. The only thing keeping this from being a perfect five was the service — it was on the slower side, especially considering they weren’t very busy and
What a great place for a solo Birthday Lunch. Came to town for the Headless Horseman shabang, and walked over to this wonderful restaurant. Food and beer were great. Waiting time was less then 10 minutes for a solo dinner without reservations. Lisette was the most mostest awesome server and the other staff, extremely attentive. I just wanted some good fish and chips. Boring perhaps, but check the pictures. They speak for themselves.
I ordered the lobster bisque soup and a non alcholic drink. My husband ordered the lobster roll. We ordered the brussel sprouts to share. The soup did not taste good and the lobster roll was tiny. We did not finish the brussel sprouts because they were bland. The bill came out to $100. Sorry, not worth it. 👎
Lovely view right by the water, great location for outdoor dining and sunsets. The servers were quick and nice as well, but the food was underwhelming, especially for the steep price. The lobster roll was over toasted and hard to chew, the lobster itself didn’t taste fresh. The fish and chips had too much breading on the fish. The oysters were fresh. The yellow gazpacho didn’t have much taste. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for foodies, but maybe other dishes are better.
