Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries of Elizabeth City

Awesome service, always greeted when entering. Burgers and chicken tenders are my favorite. Robin always remembers my entire family's order before ordering and we have been regulars every Saturday for several years because of her always going above and beyond to make sure we're satisfied.

Very enjoyable place to dine at! Loved the staff, and especially our favorite waitress, Robin; delightful service as always. The food is excellent and delicious. Absolutely adored our time spent here.

This was a better than average burger that I ordered. It was big, cooked well, and it had big slices of bacon on it. They prepared my order exactly as I ordered it and it came out fast. The server was nice and listened to what we asked for. The only thing I did not care for was the hot dog. I don’t know if it was consistent with how they are made here but it was bright red and had a bit of a hot taste to it. It didn’t say anything like that in the description. I would definitely return if I happened to be in the area.

Truly a staff member can make the difference! The food made was sloppy and this was not our best food from here. Our waitress, Kaitlyn, saved the experience! She was quick, patient with our very temperamental toddler, and listened when we were not happy with the food quality instead. Would come back again just for Kaitlyn’s service!

Unfortunately, my experience at Hwy 55 didn’t meet expectations. Upon walking in, there was no greeting or acknowledgment, which set the tone for a lack of warmth in the atmosphere. Even after taking a seat at the counter, I was still ignored until Aaryn finally stepped in to assist. She was incredibly sweet and kind, not just toward me but also in how she interacted with her coworkers. While Aaryn’s service was appreciated, the overall experience lacked the welcoming hospitality that makes a meal enjoyable. My family's orders were correct, but mine was not, leading me to simply ask for a refund rather than continue with the meal. It was disappointing, as I was hoping for better service and an inviting environment. I appreciate Aaryn’s kindness, but I hope this location improves its over
