Ideal Tavern

We hadn’t been to Ideal Tavern in a few years but after seeing them win the 2025 WingFest we decided to give it a try. WOW we were greeted very nice at the entrance and sat on a high top. The drinks are amazing, food was great and there’s a reason why they won WingFest unreal. Our waitress Ravon was one of the nicest and knowledgeable people we have met. We will be back soon.

My wife and I stopped into Ideal Tavern during the Southington Apple Festival, and overall, it was a really solid dinner experience. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was decent but not great. It was cooked fine, but the flavor was just okay. It came with a marinara sauce, and I think a lemon aioli or something a little different could have made it stand out more. I also got a six-piece order of buffalo wings, and those were excellent. They were big, juicy, and full of flavor with a nice crisp to them. The sauce had great balance, and the blue cheese dressing was surprisingly good (definitely above average). For mains, my wife had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and I had the apple burger special. The burger was good, cooked medium rare and had good flavor. The aioli on

Great food, great service and great drinks, what else is there to say? We started with the fan favorites from Wing Fest 2025: Alabama Slammer & One night stand. Then I had the Geen Bowl and my sister had the roasted beet salad. Everything was amazing, and dare I say, wings were better then The Frogg? 🤫

In town for work and found Ideal Tavern — absolute gem. Raven was my server and she was as charming as she was attentive. I put her to the “No Menu Necessary” challenge and let her pick everything… and saying the food was amazing would be putting it lightly. She crushed it.

So yummy! I wanted to try everything on the menu so I'll be back! I love the blue cheese we had with the delicious wings! Great selections to choose from!
