We were so excited to try out Il Leone and it did not disappoint. Their mushroom pizza and artichokes were a few of my favorites but truly everything we had was delicious. We started with drinks on the patio which had such a nice vibe we could have stayed there all night. The ambiance inside is warm and the staff were all incredibly welcoming. We will definitely be back!
Not only was the pizza amazing, the staff was too!!! We had such great convos with Chloe and the founder, Ben. They made the whole experience wonderful. Absolutely recco for delicious pizza, fun apps, great wine and perfect vibes!! We will be back 🫶🫶🫶
The pizza is unreal — the Funghi was genuinely one of the best mushroom pies I’ve ever had. It’s exciting to see the NYC pizza bar getting raised! The artichoke appetizer was perfectly crispy and bright, and the meatballs were tender and super flavorful. The whole place has this warm ambience that makes you want to linger. And do not skip the gelato. It’s the perfect finish. Can’t wait to go back!
We heard about Il Leone opening in the area and were super excited to try it out. The waitlist took about three hours for us when we arrived around 5:45. First off, the vibe inside is beautiful with intimate lighting and close seating. The meatballs were delicious, though I wish they had been a bit warmer. We got two pizzas, the margherita (which I devoured and is why it’s not pictured) and the funghi. Both were good, but not in a wow this is the best pizza I’ve had in a while way. For the area (Park Slope), this is definitely up there as one of the better pizza spots, but not the best in Brooklyn overall. I’d come back once things quiet down because I don’t think waiting three hours is worth it. Still a memorable meal and the people working here are wonderful. Hats off to them and best of
The restaurant is beautiful and spacious. I was seated at 5 PM although there was a short line outside before entering. I arrived at 4:50 and no line so it builds close to 5. The service was fantastic with great guidance on the menu and well paced food. Every element of the meal was incredible especially tasting the difference between the cherry tomato and san marzano sauces on pizzas. The gelato was standout and I will absolutely be back. The nebbiola wine was welll priced and outstanding as well.
