Il Lucano Ristorante Italiano

I got here at 6:00 on Friday night and the place was totally packed. I was a little worried that I would have to wait a while for a table, but the owner came out from behind the counter and offered me a table outside on the terrace. He was very polite, energetic, and made me feel welcome. After I was seated, the kind wait staff came and took my drink orders and brought me some bread, which was really good. It wasnt exactly quiet, but the atmosphere was lively and comfortable. I had the mozzarella caprese and a glass of Chianti. It took probably 12 minutes to get, but I was okay with it, given how busy it was. The caprese was good, and I could tell that the ingredients were fresh. They took my main entrée order when it came, which I liked. I didn't feel rushed at all. I ordered the porto

We're new to the area and went to check out Gig Harbor and went here for lunch because we wanted some Italian food. This might have been the best pasta I've ever eaten! The tortellini just melted in my mouth, the chicken Marsala was so flavorful. Great friendly service. You can't go wrong and won't go hungry at this gem of a restaurant!

We had a great dinner. The atmosphere is so great, the bread and oil and herbs was fantastic. The lasagna was great. The piato Italiano in the Aurora sauce was good and the spaghetti bolognese good. The coppa spagnola was the cherry dessert and it was good. The limoncello cake was great and the Classico tartufo was delicious!!

The food is pretty good and homey, but definitely pricey for the quality and quantity you get. Id go here again if I wasn’t paying.

The lamb shanks was excellent. The Pene pasta with mozzarella and pepperoni was very good. Complements to the chef 👩‍🍳.
