Imo's Pizza

I was told about Imos Pizza back in the late 90s by someone who grew up in St. Louis. I feel in love with the provel cheese and thin crust pizza and Imos soon became a standard destination for me when I am in Missouri. I walked in at 8pm and ordered a pizza and garlic cheese bread. It has been over a decade since I had been. Imagine my disappointment when I was asked if this was dine in or carry out and I said dine in. After my order was taken someone came from the kitchen and said "the dining room is closed". This was at 8 pm and this location closed at 10pm. My boss and I ate our dinner in the parking lot which felt really weird. The food was amazing but I'm not sure if I will go back after this.

I say this genuinely, you are better off waiting for your next trip to stl. It’s unfortunate that this is the only imos in town because they consistently disappoint. Even when I adjusted my expectations after the first time I had it, consistently* disappointed. If you have to get a imos fix and can’t wait just make sure you don’t pay for extra cheese. They won’t give any extra cheese no matter how nice you ask. They absolutely refuse for some reason I don’t quite understand. I’ve had pizza from here maybe 10 times in the last 4 years. It was delicious 1 of those times. 1.

I've never been a big fan of thin crust, but Imo's might be changing my mind!! They do thin crust right. It's not so toasted that it tastes burnt. But also not undercooked so it's soft in some spots. I got the deluxe pizza and it was amazing. Would definitely recommend. And the sauce/ cheese combo is very creamy and tasty! Downside to the thin crust though is that it fills you up less. The restaurant itself is very plain, but clean. I would not recommend this place for a date night. Number 1 tip if you're thinking of coming here: eat the pizza ASAP before it gets soggy!! I drove home and it was still crispy, but the last slice I ate was already starting to get less crispy than the first. Overall, a good pizza place with fast service in Columbia.

They outsource to doordash now. You don't find this out until AFTER you place the order. Driver made 3 stops first then delivered my pizza cold. Last time I ever order here. If they're willing to shave pennies off of delivery costs, goodness knows what else they'll save money on... I've ordered here for years, and never again.

I order take out here pretty often. The pizza and apps are always hot, the salads are cold and fresh, and the order is always correct. They always run good specials on their website. We love Imo's!
