It’s hard write this because this has been my favorite spot for a while. Usually I come during the week for the lunch specials. Today I came in on Saturday and order A La Carte because there are no specials weekends. I ordered fritada and being that I’ve eaten this my whole life, I know what fritada looks like and tastes like. I was not given fritada but instead given ribs. Two ribs cut up into 6 pieces and made to look like it was fritada 😢. To add insult to injury, they don’t make the traditional onions and tomatoes drenched in the lemon juice/oil that I grew up with. They gave me a garden salad of some sort. The traditional dishes might lay in the dishes they offer from the coastal regions of the country.
First time ordering Ecuadorian food and El Imperial hit the spot. I ordered garlic shrimp with rice and tostones. Really enjoyed their homemade hot sauce that provided just enough extra heat. I will be reordering and trying new items soon.
The food is so good! Service is fast and attentive.
Food was great.. Food was brought to us rather quick. I brought my wife here because she wanted to have authentic Ecuadorian food for Mothers Day.. First time here.. She is Ecuadorian by the way. Food was delicious. The restaurant isn't the best looking in the world.. But it was colorful and went with the Ecuadorian theme. It isn't a restaurant like a high class restaurant that you would feel the need to get dressed up.. But if all you care about is the food and service.. This is a great choice. The price for the food with that quality and quantity.. Is worth the trip.
SOOOO GOOD!! I got the Guatita (beef tripe with peanut sauce, rice and plaintain) and humita (Ecuadorian corn bread). Everything, including their house hot sauce, was so flavorful and authentic. I got Ecuadorian Horchata, which I learned is actually a pink herbal and floral tea drink served cold - so refreshing and delicious, will definitely go back!! Got some empanadas to go!
