On the search for a taste of my cultures cooking since I had just moved from Vancouver, Canada to Pennsylvania due to my husband and was craving Filipino food badly. Luckily, stumbled across this restaurant and thank god - it felt like I had my parents cooking all over again. We had the kare-kare, menudo, chicken adobo and pork sisig accompanied by rice. Don’t forget the lumpia, bilo bilo and halo-halo dessert! Everything was amazing and definitely going to go back, as they do serve you big portions.
Amazing place! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was super friendly! They give free samples for each dish offered, and they have combo deals that are very affordable with generous portions! There is also a small general store inside. It's just delicious, true comfort food, and I would recommend everyone check them out! They deserve the business, and I will definitely be returning!
My first time at a Filipino restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The chicken adobo and pansit was delicious. The balut was just okay. I like it more developed and the egg whites were very tough. I had much better when I was in Vietnam. The prices were good and plentiful portions.
I feel like I kind of had really bad luck with my experience. My first issue was that my order was completely misunderstood. Actually my first issue is that the menus have no prices but to each their own. I asked for pork adobo. I was asked do I want it on a platter or in a bowl. I wanted a platter so I could eat it there. I didnt know what adobo pork is. Then we got the rice. I said sure I’ll have rice after being told it goes with the platter, but then when I didn’t want a combo, now I have to put my rice in a bowl?? I didn’t get it. By the end of it I only had rice in a bowl at the register. I had to ask the lady to go back and get some adobo pork. All of this was just some confusion, it was inconvenient because it made me bring my food home instead of eating there like I wanted to. But
Stopped for dinner while in town. Greeted by friendly folks who were patient with me while explaining all the options and the unfamiliar food choices. Got a combo plate with barbecue pork kabob, chicken in a gravy sauce, rice, and some egg rolls that came with a very tasty dipping sauce. Food was great and relatively inexpensive. Also tried the Halo Halo dessert-type drink. Very tasty, with flavors and textures that were very different but sweet and refreshing. Good food, good service, good price, new experiences. What more could you want?
