Iowa Department of Health and Human Services - Council Bluffs

These people are comfortable charging a father 1200 bucks a month for two kids that I see every day. I work nights though so they claim its not split custody, Im paying for my kids clothes and make food for them everyday and just because there set paperwork that's fifty years out of date says that's what they have to do, that's what they'll do. Unbelievable and relentless, thieves are what y'all are. You steal from my children claiming it's to benefit them when me, their father, is actually caring for them. This place needs to reset and rethought because trust me, the mother isn't always the best parent, I can tell you that from my current situation and the one I grew up in myself. Y'all should be ashamed.

I work at a job that offers no benefits. Dhs took my medicaid away because I "make too much money." I am prescribed medicine that far exceeds my budget and I have been without it now for almost a year, so i have no choice but to cut my hours at work so i can get my medicine. I was struggling before and now its much worse and i still don't have my medication as of yet. My income was approximately $10 over the limit for medicaid when they took it away. They go by gross income when the amount of my tax return is 0. So they are counting income that i dont even get. Doesn't seem fair to me.

Iowa Dhs took my food stamps and my medicaid away cause they said I don't live in Council Bluffs, iowa, they said I still live at my old address in Omaha, NE. I haven't lived in Omaha, NE in a year. I have live with my wife in Council Bluffs, iowa for a year, almost 2 years. My wife isn't working and I don't make enough from my part-time job to pay all our bills, get groceries and support my wife, my 7 year old son, and my 14 year old step daughter

Health department needs to do a better job, when it is regards to Black Mold in apt Complex in CB area. I will mention name of place. I was told apartment was called in June 16th the first time work order for maintenance men. I call July 15th to apt complex to report again. They came out To take a look at leaking ceiling with Black Mold . Again No repair of water damage in apt. I was out again on August 16th 2924 to help daughter. No repairs were made to apt. We have pictures of black mold in Bed Shame on apt complex and health for not doing Job to provide Safe place for families to live.
