Irmo Branch Library

This is not the most fancy or high tech library. But it offers something others don't: a touch of community and humanity. Something we were used to back in the days but rare today. Something about its design/color/staff that reminds me of the 80's community, where people are more trusting and serene. If you don't know what I'm talking about, listen to nostalgic vaporwave on YouTube. I hope this library never changes.

Went in quickly. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. Quiet. Clean. Can't wait to go back and explore this library.

Always clean, very friendly, and helpful staff. Lots of activities planned. This is truly a wonderful community library. My family loves to come here! We love this library!

02-21-25: I usually love this place and have no issues in the past however today while in a study room a older white lady with glasses and a light brown cardigan decided rather than speaking to me like an adult she would be rude and condescending. Someone else finally booked the room so she rudely told me so I start cleaning up and her she comes again to stare at me while I’m packing up. Completely uncalled for. I don’t know what her issue is but if she can not interact with people she does not need to be in a business where that’s what you do. Everyone else is always so nice and considerate, she could learn a thing or two from her coworkers.

The librarians are very helpful and patient. Made Ginger bread house. My granddaughter enjoyed it very much. Then she played with the other children for a bit. We tried our hand at the scavenger hunt. Too bad the other parents didn't know about the little things they offered.The kids could be more engaged, rather than fussing over toys while parents talked.
