Ixtapa Grille Family Mexican Restaurant

I recall having a much better meal the last time I was here a few years back. Today I found it exceedingly mediocre. At nearly $100 for a meal for two, mediocre is not okay. While nicely seasoned, my pork dish was dry: dry rice, dry pork... On my wife's combo dish, everything was buried under a half pound of cheese, which I guess is good if you love cheese, but not good if you actually wanted to taste the rest of the food. Every dish comes with the same so-so rice and refried beans. All that would be okay were the prices not so high: $11 for a run-of-the-mill Modello beer, $18 for a so-so margarita. $24+ for each entree. This is just not worth the cost of admission. It still has a nice bright atmosphere. It would be a nice place if they could re-invigorate the menu. Back in the 90's

One of the best meals we've had in a long time! Cocktails, main coarse and dessert. Yum! I loved the Seafood Tower and hubby enjoyed his Fajita Nochos. Dessert was big enough for two. Our server was Awesome! Loved our experience!!! All new tables inside really looked good. They are celebrating their 22 years anniversary serving good food and very well proportioned. Thank you Ixtapa for a great Sunday afternoon. And thanks for more than enough leftover to take home for dinner tonight. Four meals.. Yeah!

I've been coming here for a very long time and my family and I always enjoy the food and service but today was and will be my last day ever coming here. I was a party of 4 and when I ask the young women who was I believe the hostess to bring me my check it comes up too $187 and some change , mind you that includes the 20% AUTOMATIC Gratuity I could understand the 15% but 20% on a party of 4 is insane almost 30 dollars of tip . When I asked the hostess why do you guys put automatic tip she says all orders over 100 is automatically 20% gratuity that's INSANE ! I can assure you I'll never be coming again to this place .

I came here last month with my friend. It was my first time coming here. We started off with the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were pretty good but I was disappointed by the salsa. It was just so bland. For a Mexican restaurant I definitely expected better. If I remember correctly, We both got the ixtapa tacos. It came with rice, beans and pico. The pico and tacos were pretty good. But, the rice tasted so bland, it was disappointing. I wish we asked for hot sauce. Aside from the food, service was great. The employees were very nice and helped us whenever we needed it. Overall I would come here again and try new dishes.

Cheap margs, good service, food was delicious! I love this place. I swear our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering it, it was delicious and hot.
