J Peters Grill & Bar - On the MarshWalk

This was our first time at J Peters and I would say it was a great choice. The service was fast and attentive. I had seen a couple comments comparing this place to California dreaming, I can agree to an extent. For similarities, I would say the menu is a bit small and that they have Croissants as an appitizer but overall I think the food was much higher quality and more flavorful than California Dreaming. Each of our dishes came with a side salad, that also came with a croissant, the salad alone was filling and very fresh. The sweet tea was perfect southern sweet, my Fried Chicken was very flavorful and juicy, it comes with a side if Mashed potatoes and a side of your choice, but because most of the sides are just other styles of potatoes (baked potato, French fries, loaded Mashed potatoes

We love this restaurant! The house salad is wonderful and much like California Dreaming. The sirloin steak was tender and flavorful. The service was outstanding! This was the best meal we have had in our 2 weeks in Myrtle Beach.

Excellent restaurant! Early bird special at lunchtime was a great deal included she'crab soup, outstanding grilled salmon and steamed broccoli. Decadent soup tempered by the healthy fish and veg. Super satisfying meal. Wifey's, too. Just go!

What a fantastic meal we had here. We both had selections from the Early Bird menu (we were there for lunch). The grouper was excellent, fries tasty, and one of the best salads I've had. My wife had the ribs and she said they were very good. Our server, Brittney V., was attentive and helpful. She ensure my wife's meal was suitable for her dairy allergy. The portions were generous and we both brought food home. Their Early Bird menu is available 11am-6pm.

Tonight was the final straw. The prime rib was simply inedible. I’ve had that issue before despite having had prime rib that was quite good. It was one of those times I could tell by looking that it wasn’t going to be good. The color, texture, and taste were off, then there was all the fat and gristle. I flagged down our waitress (who did a good job), and she apologized. A manager basically said it must just be us, but it wasn’t. My wife actually observed others struggling with theirs below as we were seated in the upper level. We asked for a menu again, and it boiled down to a small sirloin or an 8 ounce filet. We went with the filet, and they were served on a very lonely plate. I suppose another potato would have been asking too much for a Valentine’s Day meal at 5PM. Offering a
