Might be the best burgers I've ever had. Classic Jack was solid and perfectly balanced between the patty and toppings. The Cobra Kai is a creamy sweet spicy burger, but our fave was the Dr. Gonzo with a dark mushroom sweet grilled onion and bacon. So good. Lots of drinks. And the smaller front staff were quick with great conversation.
Nice place. I would hang here anytime. Friendly atmosphere and interesting people, it seems. Being busy early is a nice sign. The burger is pretty good. I prefer my burger is not a slider. I think it was a little overpriced for a slider. If you like sliders, it was pretty good. But, maybe a couple of them for the price+? Or, enjoy a nice atmosphere for an overpriced slider. You're reading the review, you'll know to order two! And, spend double if you are hungry. Or, enjoy a slider and spend the extra on another beer.
Had the Sgt. Stadenko burger, it was DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend. Will definitely come back when in the Roanoke area.
I’ve been to several cities with a Jack Browns, but never went… until today when I stopped in for lunch. It’s a dive bar which seems to specialize in beer with burgers being the food they offer. Their food choices are literally limited to burgers and fries (and fried Oreos for dessert). They do have an impressive list of burgers though, the toppings are unique and fun. I tried their Shocker burger, but got the habaneros on the side and whoa… it was really good, tasty, and plenty spicy without those habaneros! Loved the bun and the sauce too. The crinkle cut fries that came with it were crispy and excellent too! Service was decent… Would definitely return!
This was such a cool place to find downtown! It's got a very cool "hole in the wall" vibe. The burger was awesome. It was "smaller" than I expected but still very good! I definitely will get the "double patty" next time. Amy was my waitress and she was great! Very friendly and helpful! Check this place out if you're ever in Roanoke and want a solid burger!
