Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue Headquarters (Lifeguard Station)

It was wonderful, to be on the beach and know the lifeguards were there watching over everything. There is so much history about the station, the people who man it and carry on generation after generation. I admired their dedication and learned a lot while talking with them.

Jacksonville Beach is beautiful and quiet. There's a convenient walkway to get onto the beach. The parking is nearby. Be sure you get your ticket as soon as you park so the cameras don't alert the parking attendant to put a parking ticket offense on your vehicle. None of the signs say to pay before you walk off the lot. I'll definitely choose this beach again as it was easy for me to walk. There is an outdoor shower to rinse the sand off your feet on the way back to the car.

Love the work they do and appreciate their efforts. I do witness quite a few individuals hanging around outside. This is an iconic item for the city. Recommend minimizing the loitering and making it more open friendly to visitors instead of a local hangout. Just my thoughts on putting out best foot forward for the city.

We were on the beach for 2 days near Jacksonville Beach for a volleyball tournament. The water was incredibly rough and the heat was unforgiving. We watched multiple rescue efforts, 2 of which were very serious and intense. This team of lifeguards is a machine and they operate like true professionals. Whatever they make, it isn’t enough for what they had to endure those 2 days.
