Jefe's Cantina + Cocina

Visiting from Canada and wow… Jefe’s Mexican Restaurant absolutely blew us away. I had the ribeye steak with vegetables and every bite was perfect. So flavorful, beautifully cooked, and genuinely delicious. I cleaned my plate, jalapeños and all. With so many Mexican food options in Chandler, this is by far our family’s favorite. If you’re local or just passing through like us, don’t miss this place. So, so good.

This was out first time there and I had a stressful morning, so I was looking forward to relaxing at lunch. First, our waitress was so nice and of course very attentive. I wanted to recognize her but I didn't get her name. (We were there on 9/17/25.) A lot of great food choices and we were both very happy with the food and so much so we will be back to try it again!

Our experience at Jefe's was outstanding from beginning to end. We were seated quickly and within moments delivered chips, salsa, and drinks. The initial salsa was a little watery, but then our server suggested the salsa verde when my husband asked for something spicier. The salsa verde had a nice tang and delicious subtle smokey flavor, and the heat built up but was definitely present. We got the jalapeño rangoons to start, and those were fantastic. For entrees my husband got the birria burrito, which was so good he insisted I try some. The consomme was perfect and the meat was super tender. My daughter got the pastor street tacos, which she really enjoyed. I tried the cod taco and the Korean bulgolgi taco, and I honestly don't know which was better. Went for lunch , 6 of us. Seated no problem. I got the barria tacos for lunch. $8.50 for the plate in the picture. Phenomenal value!! AMAZING food.

I came on a Saturday night and it was pretty chill. The Bartender was great and the food was okay. The salsa wasn’t great - it was very watery which was disappointing but I’d come again to try something else.
