JiLLy’s Ice Cream Factory

We vacation yearly at the same spot, right behind the 12th street boardwalk entrance. Jilly's ice cream is awesome, I especially enjoy the peanut butter vanilla sundae and my teenage son loves their candy cake milkshakes. Under $20 for two people who are definitely going back next year.

The sign says fresh squeezed lemonade. What we got was semi-frozen funky-tasting slop. We complained to the lady at the counter and she told us she'd make us another "with strawbetry to make it sweeter." The strawberry was chunky and kinda gross too. As for the temperature, we asked for it 'without ice' hoping it'd help, to which we recieved a response of, "we can't do that, it just comes like this." We could see lemons in the store, so maybe it was squeezed fresh at some point, maybe a week ago then frozen. We managed to get a refund but seriously, if they treat their other products like they do their lemonade, avoid this place. Also, the owner's name is not Jilly. I feel betrayed.

We were excited to try Jilly’s as her businesses take up much of the boardwalk. I was disappointed when we got to the counter and the two ladies were too preoccupied with one another and their day to day drama to even greet us. The ice cream is basic (soft serve- vanilla/chocolate/twist & a couple of dole flavors) & they charge you $5.00 for a SMALL sugar cone. The staff doesn’t wear gloves and I personally asked one girl who made our cones to wash her hands. She had a bit of an attitude about doing so but did end up washing them prior to making our order. Many other ice cream places on the boardwalk, I’d say give one of those a try. They do offer “handmade ice cream,” but it looked a bit concerning.

Delicious, Premium Ice Cream is used to make sundaes, milkshakes and so much more. There are endless choices and a free sample of anything you would like to try ! The line was well worth the wait!
