This library is an outstanding community resource. It offers a vast collection of books, magazines, and digital media for all ages and interests. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, perfect for reading, studying, or working quietly. There are comfortable seating areas, private study rooms, and free access to computers and Wi-Fi. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. Events and programs for kids and adults are well-organized and engaging. Everything is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. Whether you’re a student, parent, or lifelong learner, this library provides a perfect space to explore, learn, and connect. Highly recommended

Beautiful community. Great and safe place for family and friends to study. Librarians are very helpful and supportive. Youll love it. Safe for all ages. Rec nearby and place to eat such as marketstreet, braums, Chick-fil-A, and more.

Its a great library! Our son can play on the kids computer or in the kids area while we browse. Lots of things to choose from, the robots are entertaining for our kids. Teens have an area for study as well. The only thing I didnt like was the spreading of sexual based literature and stuff in the kids areas for innocent eyes to see. Adults and teens i could understand but kids? Not every parent wants their kids to see sexualized stuff about gender identity or all the different names for sexualities in detail. As is they are not sexually active yet or of age. Let the kids be kids.

At the John and Judy Gay Library in McKinney, there are colorful flags and displays about being gay, transgender, or lesbian placed right by the children’s books where families walk through. While everyone should be treated with respect, many parents feel this kind of messaging doesn’t belong in front of young kids without their choice. A library is supposed to be a place to learn and explore—not to push ideas about gender and sexuality on children. People should be free to believe what they want, but it’s wrong for a public library, paid for by all of us, to promote one point of view in a place meant for everyone. Kids should be allowed to just be kids.

This library is very nice! I love the kid section they have in the back. It is colorful, comfortable, and perfect for the little ones. There’s a room they can play in, it has toys for them too. I also like that all books auto renew unless it’s on hold for someone else. I also like that they have so many events for the kids. We will definitely be back! Thank you for this wonderful library!! 📚
