Best Detroit style pizza we've had in Utah! And being from Michigan..we've searched. Ordered The Palermo, awesome fresh tomato flavor, good chick's of Italian sausage, and lots of mozz cheese! They were super busy on a Friday night (lots of take out and Doordash), so we had a long wait for food, but they brought us a complimentary piece of baklava (also good!) with our order. Nice Ceasar salad delivered in a cold bowl, plenty for 2 people. The inside is just a few tables and booths, couple outside picnic tables. The traditional pizzas looked good as well. We will be back! *I do wish the local fast casual places in St. George would up their plastic ware and plates though. Hard to eat or cut into with flimsy forks and the cheapest paper plates. 🤷🏼♀️
BROOOOOOO Just had Johnny Gs again and DAANNNNGGGG. I cannot tell you enough. This pizza just took another pizzeria for top spot!!! I am a TRUE New Yorka and man I was beyond excited to try this. And had it again and it just gets better. This is by far the best pizza in St. George. Unbelievable you can fold a slice just like NYC. The “sawce” is tangy and sweet. The slices are perfect ratio of cheese to sawce. The pepperoni deliciousness and the way it should be. They sprinkle it with a little oregano before they close the box I felt like I was home again. John Gs not going anywhere else.
I heard a lot of hype around John G’s so I may have went in with too high of expectations. Full disclaimer, I am not familiar with Detroit or New York style pizza so my review is subjective to my preferences in a pizza. The positives? I appreciate how all of the specials cost the same amount and they’re loaded with toppings. The letdown? The ingredients didn’t taste as fresh as we hoped. Those pies looked gorgeous, but they somehow tasted kinda bland. Call ahead if you can. There was no wait when we arrived, but it still took 25+ minutes for two pizzas. I understand that quality food takes time, but for how long we waited, I expected a little more. Both pizzas also tasted oddly sweet and were soaked in what smelled like garlic oil? This may be intentional, but it was too extra for me.
First time and last time. I walked into ol Johnny's G's and placed an order to go as I hear great things about this place. Never again will I order or consume this pizza. I place an order to go, I pay, I don't leave a tip because I'm taking it to go. Yeah don't do that, I ended up at the back of the line, waited over an hour for my pie. 3 or 4 others that were behind me got their stuff before I did. They finally made it, I took it with me, I hit Jack in the box on the way home, when I got home this pizza went right in the trash. I'd rather do the pizza at Maverick than this place.
Discovered this cute little place based on Google reviews and was not disappointed! Only open 2 months, the inside is small (a few tables and booths inside, and a few tables outside), but nice and simply decorated. The staff was super friendly, and the food, can we talk about the food??? Beautiful presentation (you eat with your eyes first!), and then the taste was amazing as well. The Caesar salad had a very creamy dressing and you could taste the anchovy and garlic, but the best thing was that it was chopped nicely so it was easy to eat (no big pieces), and both dark and lighter Romaine, so not bland looking. It was finished with fresh herbs and cheese around the rim of the bowl, perfect for 2 people to share. Next, the Palermo pizza. Nice browned bubbled crust edges, crispy with
