Jumpen Caribbean Cuisine

I recently visited this restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was absolutely great, every dish was well-seasoned and full of flavor. We had the oxtail and stew chicken entrees. The staff(husband and wife ) was very accommodating to us considering we had a very large group order that was a last minute add to our meal. The atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable, with jazz and R&B music playing in the background, adding to the overall vibe. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a warm, inviting environment. && a great home cook Trini meal !! Discovered this place thru google maps, directly across from Medieval Times castle. Husband and wife owned restaurant that’s tucked away in a small plaza. The owner behind the counter was very warm and welcoming and wanted to make sure everything was perfect for me. 1000% customer service oriented. Ordered a Chana double and Oxtail with rice and peas and steamed cabbage. Everything was great , perfectly seasoned , just the right portions , oxtail was tender and not fatty. The rice and peas is different than what you might find at other carribean places around town ( different beans and maybe less coconut milk flavor , but still equally as delicious ) they use broad beans here for oxtail which other places don’t , other places trying to probably save money. My family ordered the stewed chicken with plantains, rice and peas as well as the oxtail with rice and peas. The rice and peas were well seasoned and hard to stop eating! The brown stewed chicken was fall off the bone tender and well seasoned with a hint of cilantro which was a nice addition. The oxtail was well seasoned and fall off the bone tender as well. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the owners which are a very lovely and welcoming couple. We will certainly be back when we visit the Kissimmee area for our next vacation!

We had Curry Goat, BussUpShot Roti, Doubles, Pumpkin, Channa and Aloo, Chutney, and Cheesecake. And more . It is Fantastic, Fresh and Authentic. Calvia - Girl, you can really cook. My hub's family is Trinidad and his Grandma was a caterer in DC. So yea, if we say you should come by the Jumpen, you really should. Highly recommend. Hubby said it took him back home with his Gramma eating a nice tasty plate. Did I mention it was clean and welcoming? Ken and Calvia - certainly took care of us very well. We will be back. Prices were very reasonable, especially given the quality. Jump on by! It is🔥 and made with ❤️.

Absolutely phenomenal meal. The oxtails were fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly seasoned, and smothered in rich, flavorful gravy that soaked right into the rice. Every bite tasted slow-cooked with care. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and comforting—not dry at all. Portions were generous, presentation was solid, and the food tasted like real soul/home-style cooking. This is the kind of place you come back to again and again. Highly recommend.
