If you’re a fan of authentic Japanese comfort food, Kajiken in Falls Church is a spot you absolutely shouldn’t miss. We started the evening with Gyoza and Takoyaki, and they were the perfect way to begin the meal. The gyoza were nicely crisped on the outside with juicy, flavorful filling, while the takoyaki were warm, soft, and savory — a classic street-food favorite done right. For my main dish, I ordered the Teriyaki Tori, and it truly stood out. The chicken had a wonderful aroma and a beautifully grilled texture with a slightly crispy bite on the outside while remaining juicy inside. You can really tell it was grilled with care and precision. The flavor was incredibly satisfying and unique — honestly, I’ve had chicken dishes in many places, but it’s hard to find one quite like this. P
I visited this place for work day lunch, and the place filled up quickly. I was glad that I didn’t have to wait. The server asked us multiple times how we are doing, and came by to fill up waters. It was the right balance of not bothering too much but caring enough for our needs. We started with two appetizers. Karaage and Takoyaki. Karaage was definitely one of the top level in NoVA. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Takoyaki was ok but I wouldn’t consider it as top-notch. It was my first time visiting the restaurant so I tried the menu that has the signature symbol on it. Niku Miso was a dry noodle with pork on oily/miso based sauce. It was a unique taste that I’ve never experienced before but very much enjoyable. It tastes similar to Chinese dan dan noodle but les
Absolutely speechless. One of the best Japanese food dining experiences I’ve had outside of Japan itself (and I’ve been to Japan a lot!!!) Highly recommend the abura soba, tonkatsu ramen, karaage, agedashi tofu, taiyaki, and matcha crepe. But I’m sure everything is delicious. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem of a spot!!!
A cozy spot to get your favorite Ramen bowls. We both ordered tonkotsu ramen. Service was quick, Ramen was good, broth was creamy, noodles were tasty, chashu pork was great, but the ajitama egg was a bit off/tasteless. I was going go to with the spicy option but I decided not to risk it! Certainly worth a try if you are into it. Lots of pretty artwork around the restaurant.
Food was pretty good, fried oysters however was a bit of watery and tasted frozen. The noodles were great, definitely the go to dish to have at this restaurant. The Japanese fried chicken was ok. Really soft and not crispy. Service I had was lacklustre. Our server didn’t really appear except to give us the dishes.
