This place was bustling on a Friday afternoon. We approached the host and told him that we are vegetarian and do not eat meat or seafood. He suggested the options we could choose from the menu and quickly seated us. Everything in the buffet section was properly labeled with all the ingredients used, especially if it contained seafood, fish sauce, nuts, etc. This was great for people with allergies, food sensitivities, and also for people like me. I wish they had a few more veggie options like fried rice or noodles vegetarian version in the buffet and veggie curry. That would have made it 10/10. We went with the overall BBQ and hot pot option. They suggested we go for the tomato base for the hot pot, as it’s the vegetarian version with no meat or seafood base, perfect even for vegans. The

My husband was craving tonkatsu ramen, so we came here specifically for that. But when we arrived, they told us they were completely sold out. It wasn’t even late or a busy weekend. It was just a regular weekday, so it was a bit hard to understand how they ran out that early. They only had Tori Shoyu, so my husband ordered the Tori Shoyu and I ordered the Homura. I didn’t get a photo of his, but taste wise, the broth was actually pretty good, almost like there was ginseng or something aromatic in it. However, the meat smell was really strong. It felt like they didn’t remove that odor at all during cooking, and that’s been an issue every time we’ve visited. The broth is nice, but the meat smell really takes away from it. There was about a 20-minute wait at dinner time on the weekend. It was no problem as there's a Teso Life store a few stores down to waste time. The place is designed to seat 2 or 4 people at most seats so if your party has 5 or more, the wait may be longer. If I'm not wrong, they have like four 6-seaters. How's the food? The appetizers are alright. Main noodle? Stick to the special dry noodles - abura soba. The ramen here is meh. I wouldn't get it. If you really don't know what to order, try the "SUKIYAKI" with beef brisket. I'd recommend ordering some chilli oil on the side if you want a little kick.

This was my first visit. The noodles were a bit too salty for me, and overall the food was okay. The service was good initially, but I didn’t feel comfortable when the server presented the screen with an 18% tip already selected and asked me to sign. I was planning to leave that amount, but it felt awkward.

This is an outstanding place to satisfy my craving for authentic Japanese noodles, especially their signature Aburasoba! The service is quick and the ambiance is charming/inviting. It has definitely become one of my favorite go-to spots in Rockville!
